Profile
I have nearly 17 years of experience in the IT industry and have worked with the Workers’ Compensation Board of British Columbia, the Insurance Corporation
of British Columbia and SHL Systemhouse (now NexInnovations) as well as running my own IT Consultancy.
My most recent position was the Director of Operations for Webserve Canada, a Vancouver Canada-based Web Hosting, Website Management and Domain Registration company.
WebServe Canada is one of BC’s fastest growing companies and I managed its day-to-day operations for the company owner. I was responsible for all aspects of the company including sales, marketing, financial, human resources and systems. I am highly focused on customer care and retention along with staff retention and performance.
The role demanded I exemplify the leadership, communication and interpersonal skills necessary to grow a company in a highly competitive and dynamic industry. I lead by example to show my staff what it takes to achieve a customer’s expectations, their own and those of the company.
I achieved and maintained success in a fast paced environment with a “do what it takes” attitude. Getting the job done right the first time requires co-ordination, communication, trust and a belief that we succeed by working together. I empower my staff to act in the best interests of the customer and solve client problems in a way that meets business objectives.
I have strong communication, organizational, teamwork, management and leadership skills. I pride myself on my excellent customer service skills and consider myself a highly customer focused individual.
My knowledge and technical skills are well rounded. I have extensive knowledge of the Internet, IT, major systems Linux & Windows and hold a Bachelors degree in English Literature. I am a Microsoft Certified Professional and also an A+ Certified Service Technician. I became a published author when The Computer Paper, a Canadian trade paper, printed several of my articles concerning the Year 2000 problem.
In June 2000 I began working with London Drugs corporate division, TLD Computers Inc., as a Project Manager. I was originally tasked with troubleshooting and completing several deeply troubled custom software development projects that were months overdue and grossly over budget. My success lead to greater roles and more project responsibility. At times I had more than 8 active projects assigned to me ranging from a small website project to a large Loss Prevention Case/Offender Tracking System for London Drugs.
